Brianna Keilar Accuses 'Deliberately Negligent' Trump of 'Killing Americans'

NewsBusters.org:
During the 1:00 PM ET hour on CNN  Thursday, host Brianna Keilar trashed President Trump for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to repeatedly accusing the President of “deliberate negligence,” Keilar went so far as to accuse him of “killing Americans.”
Keilar began her monologue by declaring “This is a nation in crisis. We are watching leaders who are in denial and it’s killing Americans.” She called President Trump “deliberately negligent” and claimed that he “knowingly puts Americans at risk by holding indoor rallies and events and by cutting funding for coronavirus testing.”
According to Keilar, Trump “doesn’t even acknowledge the collective loss of the nation. Instead, he turns the pandemic into a racist punchline for his rally-goers to cheer.” Keilar also whined that “the President is focused more on sending troops to protect statues of dead confederate generals than on protecting American lives.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Puts Manu Raju In His Place After Race Card Coronavirus Question

The always sanctimonious Erin Burnett wants you to believe that her network, which is 97% anti-Trump and never goes after Democrats the way they do Republicans, asked a legitimate question here. Because Orange Man Bad used a term 'Kung Flu' that is causing so much crime against Asian-Americans right now and that's what people are mostly concerned with when it comes to COVID-19 today. Great job by McCarthy to shut that shit down.

Poppy Harlow, Jim Sciutto Don’t Ask Gov. Cuomo About NY Nursing Home Deaths in 9 Minute Interview

Mediaite.com:
CNN’s Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto on Monday engaged in a wide-ranging interview with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), but failed to ask him about the controversy over coronavirus-related deaths in his state’s nursing homes.
The duo began the nine-minute interview — which also included questions about police reform and vote-by-mail efforts – by asking about the state’s reopening process. Cuomo used the opportunity to tout improvement in numbers related to the coronavirus in New York, saying he was a “slave to the science.”
“We did 57,000 tests just yesterday,” Cuomo added. “Highest number of tests in the United States, and we had less than 1 percent transmission rate yesterday. We went from the highest transmission rate in the United States to the lowest transmission rate. We only had 10 deaths overnight. That’s the lowest number since this started. We have about 1,000 people in our hospitals, lowest number since this started, so we watch those numbers every day.”
Cuomo has faced criticism for a March 25 New York Health Department directive that sent more than 4,500 recovering coronavirus patients to state nursing homes. The department scrapped the directive in April — but not in time to stave off higher-than-average infection rates in those nursing homes.

Chris Cuomo Criticizes Trump Economy Using Data That Stops in 2016

NewsBusters.org:

CNN’s Chris Cuomo doesn’t appear to have done his due diligence. He committed a very bad gaffe last night by using pre-Trump era economic data to bash President Donald Trump’s economy.

Cuomo attacked Trump’s Director of the United States National Economic Council Larry Kudlow for saying that he doesn’t believe there is systemic racism in the U.S. during the June 11 edition of CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time. To bolster his argument, Cuomo fired off a flurry of wealth inequality graphs attempting to prove his “fact” that systemic racism exists in America. He used the graphs to claim the “fundamental divide” between white and black wealth was “as wide now as it was the year Dr. [Martin Luther] King[, Jr.] was shot. So much for Trump's economy being the best ever for black people.”

The problem? All the graphs Cuomo used had data that stopped in 2016, when former President Barack Obama was still in office. The irony is that the chyron for the segment was headlined “The Data Is Clear.” If anything was “clear,” it was that Cuomo’s cherry-picked data had nothing to do with the Trump economy at all.

Chris Cuomo Claims ‘Too Many’ Trump Supporters Want Blacks ‘Put Down’

NewsBusters.org:
Despite his false claims to the contrary, CNN host Chris Cuomo hates President Trump and loathed his supporters. He flashed that disdain again on Thursday when he suggested that the President was sending more racist “dog whistles” to his fans when talking about “dominating” the streets. He even seemed to suggest Trump’s supporters wanted to see blacks killed, or “put down” in the words of Cuomo. On top of that, Cuomo also defended the radical “autonomous zone” set up in Seattle.

“All eyes are on Seattle and Trump sees an opportunity to make everything that's happening there, and really everywhere, about his political opponents and their radical ranks,” he fumed, seemingly admitting that radicals were there. “His move? Calls to ‘dominate’ the people on the streets, dangling troops again. Wonder what effect that will have on people who say they are tired of being dominated.”

After playing a heavily edited soundbite of Trump’s address in Dallas, Texas on police reform, Cuomo was irritated by talk of “dominating the street with compassion.”

It was then he made his disgusting attack against Trump supporters. “When I say he is tone-deaf, I mean the calls for equity and justice. That is because he is singing a different tune – it’s more like a dog whistle, right, to his base. And too many of them want to see the people who are begging for change put down,” he proclaimed without evidence.

Alisyn Camerota Uses Code Words to Protect Minneapolis City Council President Who Wants Dismantle Police Force from the GOP

HotAir.com:
Here’s the key bit from this morning’s interview about Minneapolis’s surreal plan to disband the local PD, but it’s worth watching the entire interview to see how skeptical even CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota is of the proposal. She asks Bender at one point if she’s worried about Trump using this against the Democrats, which is journalist-speak for you should be worried about Trump using this against the Democrats. Watch, then read on.

Far-Left Guest Rashad Robinson Claims Facebook is Letting Trump Get Away With Voter Suppression

Radical Rashad Robinson of the group "Color for Change" joined CNN Newsroom host Brianna Keilar on Wednesday to accuse Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg of allowing President Trump to use Facebook to engage in voter suppression.
Robinson's proof, which Keilar was all too happy to agree with, was that Zuckerberg refused to take Robinson's advice on how he should run his company. After Keilar asked about him about Facebook's decision not to remove "Trump's inflammatory posts" about looters, Robinson condemned Zuckerberg's rationale.
"Zuckerberg kind of gave this answer that, in some ways did not land for us at all, because he was sort of speaking to this idea that President Trump is the, as a person who controls the sort of military, that maybe he was making a demand from the state." Robinson then shifted to other problems he had with Zuckerberg: "We were also in that same meeting talked about the ways in which President Trump is sort of pushing voter suppression by spreading lies about vote by mail."

Activism, Not Journalism: CNN Correspondent Sara Sidnor Explains Rioting as Done Out of ‘Pain,’ Racism

NewsBusters.org:
UPDATE, 12:53 p.m. Eastern: Responding to this writer's video tweet of her comments, Sidner said that, unless we're there and on the ground in Minneapolis, we shouldn't be allowed to critique her work:
Yes, one might be characterizing what people are saying or their justification for doing something, but by expressing such empathy, reporters are giving their endorsement to what's going on. Once someone commits acts of violence upon people unrelated to the case at hand (i.e. Floyd's murder), it's safe to say they lose credibility.
Also, what a classic response by a journalist and add this to the already-established reality that journalists can't stand outside criticism.
----------------------------------------------
A few hours after an emotional moment on CNN in which national correspondent Sara Sidner asked a question of Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo on behalf of the late George Floyd’s family,
Sidner reflected on it and, with help from Prime Time host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo, she explained to viewers why there’s been widespread looting and rioting. The excuse? Well, it’s because of the (real) “pain” from racism that racial minorities have experienced for far too long.
Towards the end of their important conversation with Sidner about what it meant to ask Arradondo for the Floyd family (as well as the maddening final moments of Floyd’s life), Cuomo defended journalism’s supposed love of “diversity” because “we want so much diversity” in people that “look different” with “difference experiences.”
